This wonderful piece of street theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne was conceived by Paul Miskin of Stilts International.
The abdomen is held aloft by a helium balloon and the legs are kept inflated by an air fan. There is a person inside the base of each leg allowing the spider to move about.
